Who was Amber Czech?

On November 11, 2025, 20-year-old welder Amber Mary Czech was fatally bludgeoned with a sledgehammer at her workplace, Advanced Process Technologies, in Cokato, Minnesota. Prosecutors in Wright County charged her co-worker with second-degree intentional murder, alleging that he attacked her at her welding station inside the food-processing equipment plant. Her co-worker admitted to killing her because he simply didn’t like her. Amber went to her HR department numerous times to report this co-worker and nothing was done. This brutal and senseless murder is a stark reminder of the dangers some in the trades face on a daily basis. Countless women in the trades have stories that could have ended like this. Homicide is the leading cause of death for women in the workplace.
